Victorian Lace Dresses

Montmartre in France?
When I'm older, I'd like to spend some time in Montmartre, maybe study there in a university for a few years. If I moved there, could I expect to see prostitutes wearing long, Victorian dresses, fish-net tights, lace fingerless gloves, dark makeup and high hairdoes, bordellos with classy madams wearing that type of turtleneck-like dresses with like a broche on the neck, can-can dancers with those large dresses, artists with berets and scarves spending time in cafés, artist's model who had hard childhoods, troubled, starving writers and go in one of those dirty-looking hotels with window shutters where I could sit on the side of the window and admire the view whilst drinking absinthe? Kinda like in Moulin Rouge? Is it still like that?
This town (really an area of Paris...a suburb) is NOT what you think it is...good grief...spend your time watching the movie, it wasn't real in the time the movie portrayed, and it certainly isn't today!
